no, just the loud annoying hipsters that stand out.
in reality a little over 200 million ipods have sold, however, there are 300+ million people in the US, 1+ billion in China, and countless others elsewhere totalling 6 billion.
and this doesn’t count those who have over the years upgraded and kept their old ipods in a drawer somewhere.
and i’ve seen people with zunes. my grandpa even has one!
as far as I know, Apple made an arrangement with Xerox to publish the GUI technology, because they were not interested on it.
Microsoft STOLE the whole idea from the Mac prototypes. Why do you guys qualify my comments as negative? That was extensively DOCUMENTED, and there were a long trial about that.
Ahead of “everyone”? The Commodore Pet out sold Apple, then Microsoft came around and sealed the coffin and Apple has been struggling to keep 10% market share ever since. I don’t know about you, but every corporation defines its success by how much it makes – even Apple. Their MP3 players are what saved them and a lot of the R&D seed money came from Microsoft in the form of 150 Million dollars worth of non-voting shares. So next time you listen to your ipod, give MS the respect it deserves.
i meant technology-wise. apple was ahead of everyone in the computer buisness in the 80s with their computers, and now it seems like apple are ahead of microsoft and everyone else with the ipod, again technology-wise. and within ipods i think the ipod touch itself is a huge advancement in music players, just like apple’s computers were in the computer business in the 80s. its really not about how much money you can make out of it, but how you can change the world with your products.
bill always maintains his position. i believe he is right and it’s just business, it’s not a relationship it’s steves desire to personalize his business so he can use guilt as a form of control. just my opinion.
Once more I’ll repharse what I meant… the next Mac version after the Windows one is like an improved version of the former. The repeating patterns, such as the Mac version being released a year after, with similar features to the last, etc.
Correction:
Office 98 after 97, 2001 after 2000, ver. X (2002) after XP (2001), office:mac (2004) after 2003, and now 2008 after Office 2007.
more software. ipods are no more advanced than what else is out at the moment. its just a really good interface.
1oh, and their touch screen
everyone has an ipod?

03:02 -> Bill’s disappointed…
But he WAS Apple’s ‘true’ date as the hands of time have decided.
21Not the framework, but definitely the interface.
22Yes, then MS stole, modded, and published their own version to Mac OS, called Windows.
